We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Sales Operations (14-month maternity contract leave) to join our team at Rubicon Organics, a leading organic cannabis cultivation producer based out of British Columbia and reporting to the VP of Sales. 

About the role
The Director of Sales Operations is responsible for building and leading the operational backbone of Rubicon’s sales organization, ensuring that strategy, execution, and insights come together seamlessly. This role manages provincial board relationships across Canada and leads the Data & Insights team, serving as the critical link between customer requirements, internal execution, and organizational efficiency. By streamlining processes, overseeing reporting and planning, and ensuring flawless execution of listings, promotions, and trade programs, the Director of Sales Operations enables the field and key account teams to maximize impact in market. This role is central to driving profitable growth through stronger insights, smarter planning, and operational excellence.

This is a full-time, 14-month contract position, ideally based in the Greater Vancouver Area, with a start date of September 1, 2026 and running through October 31, 2027. Candidates located in the Greater Toronto Area will also be considered.

Responsibilities
  • Own provincial board relationships across Canada, ensuring strong partnerships, timely listings, and compliance with all regulations.
  • Lead the Sales Operations function, including planning, forecasting, reporting, KPI tracking, and incentive management.
  • Oversee the Data & Insights team, ensuring insights are actionable and integrated into strategy and execution.
  • Manage tools, systems, and processes that drive sales team efficiency and effectiveness. 
  • Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Marketing, and Supply Chain to align on forecasts, budgets, and trade spend ROI.
  • Ensure flawless execution of listings, promotional programs, and reporting requirements with provincial boards.
  • Build and maintain the governance framework for sales planning, ensuring clarity and accountability across all channels.
  • Drive a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement within the sales organization.

Core Skills & Expertise
  • Strong commercial analytics and storytelling capability, with the ability to translate complex data into clear insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Deep experience in sales forecasting, demand planning, and performance management, including KPI design and governance.
  • Proven strength in revenue management and trade spend optimization, with a focus on ROI, pricing, and promotional effectiveness.
  • Excellent process design and operational discipline, including building scalable planning and reporting frameworks.
  • Clear, confident executive-level communication, both written and verbal.

Capabilities
  • Ability to own and lead provincial board relationships, ensuring timely listings, promotional execution, and regulatory compliance across jurisdictions.
  • Demonstrated success building and running a Sales Operations operating rhythm (forecast cadence, scorecards, reviews, accountability).
  • Strong cross-functional leadership, partnering effectively with Finance, Marketing, and Supply Chain to align forecasts, budgets, and execution.
  • Proven ability to lead, develop, and coach high-performing analytics or sales operations teams.
  • Comfort managing and optimizing sales tools, systems, and reporting platforms to drive adoption and efficiency.

Experience
  • 7–10+ years of progressive experience in Sales Operations, Revenue Operations, Commercial Analytics, Category Management, or related disciplines.
  • Experience working with regulated or complex customers (provincial boards, government-controlled distribution, or similarly structured environments) is a strong asset.
  • Track record of improving forecast accuracy, data reporting systems/process, and commercial decision-making.
  • Exposure to category management, assortment planning, or retail performance analysis is considered a strong asset.
  • Experience supporting or influencing senior leadership teams in a high-growth or transformational environment.

  • Base salary of $100,000–$150,000, commensurate with experience and scope of role
  • Phone stipend reimbursement of up to $70 per month toward mobile expenses
  • Medical and dental benefits coverage available after three months of employment
