Solventless Extraction & Vape Specialist

The Solventless Extraction & Vape Specialist is responsible for leading solventless extraction, formulation, and solventless vape and infused product production activities while ensuring compliance with all regulatory, safety, and quality requirements. This role acts as a technical subject-matter expert, supports junior staff, and drives efficiency, consistency, and continuous improvement across extraction and Cannabis 2.0 operations. This position is based out of our Delta facility and will report directly to the Extraction Manager. 
 
Key Responsibilities 
Extraction & Solventless Processing (Primary) 
  • Own and oversee solventless extraction processes including kief, hash, bubble hash, and related post-processing activities 
  • Operate, monitor, and optimize extraction processes involving pressure and temperature control 
  • Prepare, stage, and verify biomass, inputs, and materials for extraction runs 
  • Ensure process efficiency, yield consistency, and product quality across extraction types 
  • Identify deviations, troubleshoot process issues, and escalate as required 
  • Maintain accurate, compliant batch records, logs, and inventory tracking 
  • Oversee cleaning, sanitation, and readiness of extraction rooms and equipment 
 
Vape, Infused PRLs & Cannabis 2.0 Production 
  • Lead solventless vape tumbling, formulation, batching, filling, and assembly activities per SOPs 
  • Support infused pre-roll (PRL) processes using solventless extracts 
  • Ensure accurate formulation and batching of Cannabis 2.0 products 
  • Verify fill weights/volumes, uniformity, appearance, and device functionality 
  • Perform and document in-process quality checks and ensure full batch traceability 
  • Support investigations related to vape or infused product quality issues 
 
Quality, Compliance & Leadership 
  • Act as a technical lead and mentor for junior extraction and vape staff 
  • Train team members on SOPs, GMPs, formulation standards, and best practices 
  • Ensure daily compliance with Health Canada regulations and internal quality systems 
  • Participate in audits, investigations, CAPAs, and change management activities 
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with QA, Maintenance, and Production teams 
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on yield, efficiency, and consistency 
 
KPIs & Performance Expectations 
  • Extraction yield and efficiency meeting or exceeding established targets 
  • Consistent quality across kief, hash, bubble hash, rosin, vape, and infused PRL products 
  • Cannabis 2.0 formulation accuracy and batching right-first-time 
  • Vape and infused product throughput meeting daily production targets 
  • Zero critical or major compliance deviations attributable to role 
  • Accurate, complete, and audit-ready batch documentation 
  • No preventable safety incidents or near-misses 
  • Effective training and performance development of junior staff 
 
Qualifications & Preferred Background 
  • 3+ years of experience in solventless extraction and Cannabis 2.0 manufacturing 
  • Hands-on experience with kief, hash, bubble hash, rosin, vape, tumbling, and infused products 
  • Strong understanding of pressure and temperature and their impact on yield, quality, and efficiency 
  • Solid knowledge of GMP, batch documentation, and regulated manufacturing environments 
  • Background or education in chemistry, cannabis science, lab operations, or chemical engineering is a strong asset 
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to lead, train, and communicate effectively across teams

Compensation

$65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
