Maintenance Lead (Hope)

We are seeking a Facilities Lead to support our Hope operations by ensuring the daily execution of preventive and reactive maintenance activities. The successful candidate will work closely with the Maintenance Team to maintain and service the facility, equipment, and tools used at our site. This role requires a hands-on professional who enjoys troubleshooting and solving technical issues while ensuring minimal production downtime. This role will be based in Hope BC and reporting into the maintenance Manager.
 
Key Responsibilities
·        Execute and adhere to the company’s preventive maintenance and calibration program, covering key systems such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and production machinery. 
·        Perform and record regular perimeter checks of exterior and interior site systems. 
·        Maintain and repair production equipment, hardware, and systems, including but not limited to irrigation systems, HVAC systems, lighting, mobile equipment, and packaging machines. 
·        Troubleshoot mechanical and control issues following established procedures. 
·        Always Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPS) to ensure compliance and safety. 
·        Conduct routine replacement of air filters. 
·        Adhere to and enforce company safety procedures and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. 
·        Communicate effectively with internal teams, contractors, and suppliers to coordinate maintenance and repairs. 
·        Operate and maintain the computerized maintenance management system for preventive, reactive, and predictive maintenance and record keeping. 
·        Perform general maintenance tasks in and around the facility to support efficient operations. 
·        Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance facility reliability and efficiency. 
 
Qualifications & Skills
·        Proven experience in a maintenance role within manufacturing, cannabis, food, pharmaceutical, or greenhouse environments. 
·        Ability to work both independently and within a team. 
·        Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage maintenance schedules. 
·        Hands-on experience with Building Automation Systems, including components such as boilers, chillers, pumps, and generators. 
·        Basic understanding of electrical wiring and control systems. 
·        Knowledge of irrigation systems is preferred. 
·        Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying conditions, including hot or cold environments. 
·        Flexibility with working hours, including being on-call for emergencies as needed, with an established rotation schedule. 
·        Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently. 
·        Proficient with troubleshooting and climate controls and low voltage systems. 
 
Preferred Certifications & Assets
·        Valid First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). 
·        Forklift operator certification. 
·        Additional safety certifications are considered an asset. 
·        Building Operator Certificate is a plus. 
·        Class 5 Boiler Certificate is a plus.

·        $55,000 – $65,000 per year
·        3-week vacation to start
