Greenhouse Cultivation Lead (Hope BC)

The Greenhouse Cultivation Lead plays a key role in supporting day-to-day operations across propagation, nursery, and flowering. This is a hands-on position for someone who leads from the floor, supports team performance, and takes ownership of plant health and production outcomes. The role reports to the Cultivation Supervisor and is based out of our Hope, BC facility. Shifts are rotational and may include mornings, days, and afternoons, depending on production needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day cultivation activities across propagation, nursery, and flowering, ensuring all tasks are executed efficiently and in line with production schedules.
- Oversee and support core plant work, including cloning, transplanting, pruning, topping, defoliation, canopy management, and harvest preparation.
- Monitor plant health throughout the full lifecycle (propagation through harvest), identifying and escalating issues related to pests, disease, nutrition, or environment.
- Support and execute Integrated Pest Management (IPM) activities, including scouting, monitoring, and applying preventative or foliar treatments.
- Train, coach, and support team members on cultivation techniques, sanitation practices, and SOP adherence to ensure consistency and quality.
- Ensure full compliance with facility SOPs, Health Canada regulations, and biosecurity standards, including gowning, sanitation, and traceability.
- Maintain accurate plant tracking from clone to harvest using seed-to-sale systems and support inventory audits as required.
- Coordinate sanitation, waste management, and room or area turnover to maintain operational readiness across all cultivation stages.
- Promote a safe, clean, and organized work environment, supporting team productivity, morale, and accountability on shift.
- Assist with scheduling and workflow coordination to ensure optimal labour utilization across cultivation areas.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency while maintaining product quality.
- Escalate plant health concerns, operational issues, or employee-related matters to leadership as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience in cannabis cultivation or a similar greenhouse/horticultural environment, with exposure across propagation, nursery, and/or flowering stages.
- Previous experience in a lead or senior-level role, with the ability to support, train, and guide team members on daily tasks and best practices.
- Understanding of cultivation processes, including plant health monitoring, irrigation/fertigation, and Integrated Pest Management (IPM).
- Familiarity with SOPs, safety practices, and compliance requirements within a regulated production environment.
- High attention to detail with the ability to accurately complete documentation, checklists, and inventory tracking.
- Experience using Excel and seed-to-sale tracking systems (or similar production software).
- Spanish language skill (spoken) is preferred; English proficiency required for reporting and compliance.
- Pesticide Applicator Certificate, or willingness to obtain one.
- Physically capable of performing repetitive tasks, standing for extended periods, and lifting up to 50 lbs in a warm or humid environment.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.
- Reliable, accountable, and comfortable taking ownership of assigned areas and responsibilities.

Compensation
$50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
