The Commercial Analyst is responsible for enabling the execution of the company’s commercial strategy by transforming raw data into clear, actionable insights that inform decision-making across the organization. This role provides visibility into sales performance, distribution, profitability, and market dynamics across all provinces, supporting disciplined, data-driven growth.
Success in this role is tied to an exceptional ability to analyze complex data sets, create compelling insights, and disseminate them effectively to multiple levels of the organization - from field teams to senior leadership - while owning the development, maintenance, governance, and continuous improvement of Power BI architecture, reporting systems, and analytical tools to ensure scalable, reliable, and decision-ready insights across the organization. The Commercial Analyst plays a critical role in navigating a highly regulated cannabis environment by ensuring decisions are grounded in accurate, timely, and relevant commercial insights and that opportunities and risks are identified early. This role is based out of our Downtown Vancouver location and will be reporting into Director of Sales Operations.

Responsibilities
  • Gather, analyze, and distribute key commercial reporting to support business decision-making.
  • Send weekly updates on sales performance and Sales Representatives’ performance. 
  • Produce monthly distribution reporting, including competitive analysis and key trends.
  • Support profitability reporting and monthly margin insights.
  • Provide monthly budget recap reporting to stakeholders.
  • Build and improve trackers and tools that help the organization understand shifting dynamics and performance.
  • Own the design, development, maintenance, and optimization of Power BI dashboards, reports, and data models that support leadership visibility, sales execution, and strategic decision-making.
  • Establish and maintain Power BI reporting governance, including data accuracy, refresh reliability, documentation, user adoption, and standardization of KPI definitions across the business.
  • Build scalable reporting architecture and automate reporting processes to reduce manual work, improve data integrity, and support long-term business growth.
  • Translate reporting outputs into clear business recommendations by identifying trends, risks, opportunities, and the ‘so what’ behind the data.
  • Track team KPIs, incentives, and performance metrics.
  • Develop and maintain a standardized CRM account maintenance process that ensures. account records remain accurate and aligned with active provincial license information.
  • Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and consistency across reporting, tools, and documentation.
  • Provide day-to-day support to the VP Sales, Director of Sales Operations, Director of Field Sales and Director of Key Accounts, delivering ad-hoc insights and executive-ready performance summaries as needed.
  • Support execution of internal sales activities including team meetings, training sessions, and sales conferences.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by manager. 

Knowledge & Experience 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field. 
  • 2+ years of sales reporting and analytics experience. 
  • Advanced hands-on experience building and managing Power BI architecture, including dashboard development, data modeling, report optimization, and reporting governance. 
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Strong communication skills - able to summarize performance simply and clearly.
  • Confident managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-moving environment.
  • Collaborative and comfortable working cross-functionally.
  • A proactive, owner-minded approach - someone who sees what’s needed and takes initiative.
  • Experience in the cannabis industry is a strong plus but not required.

Compensation
